Incidents of bridge collapse are happening continuously in Bihar. In the last 10-15 days, the fifth bridge in Bihar has collapsed. The latest case is from near Lalwarhi on the main road from Bheja Koshi Dam Chowk to Mahapatiya in Madhepur block of Madhubani district. Villagers say that shuttering work was going on for the girder. Then suddenly the water level in the Bhoothi Balan river increased due to which the girder was swept away in the strong flow of water. Villagers say that people thought that the bridge has collapsed when the girder fell.

The bridge is being constructed at a cost of Rs 2.98 crore
This bridge was being built at a cost of 2.98 crores. Shuttering was done to cast the beam between two pillars in the four pillar bridge. After the incident, JE, Executive and Assistant Engineer of the department inspected the site. The Executive Engineer has ordered the contractor of the bridge to reconstruct the bridge. After receiving the order, the contractor has said that he will reconstruct the beam once the water dries up.
